LNG Canada is a landmark energy project located in Kitimat, British Columbia. It is Canada’s first large-scale liquefied natural gas export terminal and is the largest private sector investment in Canadian history, with a total cost of around $40 Billion.
The project involves a 670-kilometre pipeline that annually carries 14 million tonnes of natural gas to the coastline for liquefication and export. Once complete, the plant will create nearly 300 ongoing jobs and generate over $575 million annually for 40 years.
UBC Members have been on site since construction began in 2019, with 6,743 members dispatched to date. In total, the project has provided a staggering 6.9 million hours of work for UBC Members.
As the project enters its final commissioning stage, we congratulate those who have been a part of this historic project, making it a significant contribution to Canada’s economy and creating wealth and prosperity for generations to come.
