While Labour Day celebrates the contributions of all workers, it has a special meaning for us as carpenters. That’s because Peter J. McGuire, the man who founded Labour Day, also founded the United Brotherhood of Carpenters more than 140 years ago. The UBC participated in marches and festivities across the Canada to celebrate our members and remind everyone that Labour Day is UBC Built!
