Local 2103

About:

Founded on April 12, 1904, our Calgary Hall was originally designated as Local 1779. Nearly 49 years later, on March 12, 1953, it was renumbered to Local 2103. Today, our Local proudly represents over 1,500 members—and continues to grow.

With a dedicated team of Organizers, Representatives, and Office Staff, Calgary Local 2103 remains committed to putting our members’ interests first. We are consistently working to organize, expand our reach, and provide the highest level of representation possible.

Organizing:

In recent years, Local 2103 has seen a significant increase in Voluntary Recognitions, more than ever before. With a growing shortage of skilled Carpenters and Scaffolders, contractors are recognizing that partnering with the Union presents a valuable business opportunity. Access to a reliable pool of skilled workers enables contractors to expand their operations and compete for larger projects.

Local 2103 is proud to have a strong and proactive Organizing team, always seeking opportunities to organize—whether top-down or bottom-up. Our mission is to elevate working standards for all Carpenters in the region, and organizing remains at the heart of our Local’s efforts.

Gaining market share is our ongoing goal, and with the dedicated team at Local 2103, the future looks promising.
