About:

UBC Local 2222, part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, represents skilled carpenters and allied trades across Bruce, Grey, Huron, and Perth counties in Ontario. As a proud affiliate of the Carpenters’ Regional Council, Local 2222 plays a key role in advancing the interests of unionized carpenters through collective bargaining, apprenticeship training, and advocacy for safe, fair, and well-paid employment in the construction and energy sectors. The Local traces its roots to the long-standing tradition of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, founded in 1881, and continues that legacy by promoting professionalism, skill development, and solidarity among its members. Over the years, Local 2222 has become a cornerstone of the regional trades community, partnering with industry leaders and training institutions to deliver high-quality programs that prepare apprentices and journeypersons for success in a rapidly evolving workforce. Through its community involvement, charitable initiatives, and commitment to training excellence, Local 2222 remains dedicated to building strong careers, strong communities, and a stronger future for all its members.

Organizing:

A company can get involved with UBC Local 2222 by becoming a signatory contractor. This involves meeting with the Local to discuss the type of work performed, then signing a collective agreement that outlines wages, benefits, and working conditions. Once signatory, the company gains access to a skilled, safety-trained workforce through the union’s dispatch system and can participate in Local 2222’s apprenticeship and training programs. Partnering with the union provides access to qualified workers, industry connections, and opportunities to work on major unionized projects across Ontario.

Contact:

Ryan Plante
Local Union Coordinator
rplante@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222

Josh Neitzel
Business Representative
jneitzel@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222

Dan Kraft
Training Coordinator
dkraft@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222

Andrew Reinhart
Trainer
areinhart@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222

Jessica Cormier
Apprenticeship & Training Administrator
jcormier@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222

Hayley Wendt
Office Administrator
local2222@ubcja.ca
519-396-0222
